Who is eligible for the Head Start Program?
 
  • Any child who will be 3 or 4 years old before September 30th.  You must live in Fauquier County and meet the income requirements (special circumstances will be taken into consideration).

 

  • Foster, Homeless and families that receive TANF or SSI are automatically eligible.

 

How do I apply for the Head Start Program?

 

  • Bring all required documentation to the main office.  A staff member will assist you in filling out an application.

 

Is transportation provided?

 

  • Transportation is provided; however we are unable to provide door-to-door service to all areas.  Meeting spots will be required for certain areas.

 

When can I apply?
 
  • Applications for the current school year are accepted year round.  Applications for the coming school year are accepted beginning in January. 

 

I have applied for the program,
what happens next?

 

  • Once your application is received and you have provided ALL of the required documentation it will be reviewed. If you meet the income and eligibility requirements your child will be placed on a waiting list and as soon as an opening is available you will be notified.

 

Does my child have to be potty trained?

 

  • No, we do not require the children to be potty trained.  We will make every effort to work with you and your child to facilitate this process.
